Reconstituting Your Peptide
The process of peptide reconstitution requires careful selection of the solvent based on the specific properties of the peptide. At 3HEALTH, we recommend bacteriostatic water for this purpose — see Bac vs Sterile Water for why.
Before you start
Make sure the peptide powder and solvent that were stored cold are brought to room temperature first. Using the solutions while still cold can interfere with reconstitution. Carefully remove the central part of the metal cap from the vial and disinfect the upper surface with an alcohol swab — this step is crucial for maintaining sterility. Repeat the same cleaning process for the solvent vial.

Adding the solvent
Precise handling matters here. Using a sterile syringe, carefully withdraw the required amount of solvent and slowly inject it into the peptide vial. Tilt the vial at a 45° angle so the solvent gently runs down the interior wall, rather than hitting the powder directly — this minimizes bubbles and foam and helps the peptide dissolve smoothly and evenly. Storage
- Unreconstituted (lyophilized) powder: minimum 40°F (refrigerator) for short-term use, 1–2 weeks. Ideally -4°F (freezer) for long-term storage, 12–24 months.
- Reconstituted solution: limited shelf life of 4–6 weeks, refrigerated.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles — this compromises peptide integrity.
